Hello and welcome!
The goal of this site is to share my teaching models and supportive instructional content. I share these creations with you openly to begin a dialogue. I hope that dialogue turns into a collaboration, where a diverse and committed veterinary educational community grows better together for the good of the teaching and learning communities we serve.
The impetus for this site and my desire to form strong communities of veterinary educational collaborators is based on The Wisconsin Idea.
“The mission of the system is to develop human resources, to discover and disseminate knowledge, to extend knowledge and its application beyond the boundaries of its campuses and to serve and stimulate society by developing in students heightened intellectual, cultural and humane sensitivities, scientific, professional and technological expertise and a sense of purpose. Inherent in this broad mission are methods of instruction, research, extended training and public service designed to educate people and improve the human condition. Basic to every purpose of the system is the search for truth.
The Wisconsin Idea
What the Wisconsin Idea means for you, is that this site will eventually grow to reflect the diverse wisdom and accumulated knowledge of its participants. I ask that you please be respectful of anyone and everyone that contributes to or comments on this site. Participants will be forming a partnership. Partnerships must be based on respect, trust, and reciprocated effort to be successful. We must all remember that there are many paths forward. Only in keeping an open mind, incorporating diverse thoughts and practices, and embracing change can we truly accomplish progress.
Throughout this site, I will be as respectful as possible to all of the people and places I contact and connect with. The Teejop page acknowledges the Ho-Chunk Nation, whose ancestors inhabited the land that the University of Wisconsin- Madison, the city of Madison, and my place of residence currently occupy. This page recognizes the past and informs our future.
The In-house Collaborators page is where I show appreciation to the team of instructors with whom I interact continuously. Whatever weaknesses I possess are more than covered by their strengths, and together we make an amazing educational team. Be sure to visit their pages to learn more about them!
If you’d like to learn more about me, check out the Professional Bio page!
The other page is dedicated to the instructional models that I have developed alongside my teaching team.
